( ESTEEMING VIRTUES)
仁義 Benevolence and Righteousness
卷二十二  後漢書二

仁者行之宗,忠者義之主也 
仁不遺舊,忠不忘君,行之高者也 

〔白話〕仁厚是德行的根本,
                忠誠是道義的要素
                仁厚的人不會遺棄疏遠故舊
                忠誠的人不會忘記領導(的恩德)
                這是高尚的品行。


Benevolence is the root of all virtues, and faithfulness
is the key to righteousness. A benevolent person will
never distance himself from old friends. and a faithful
person will never disregard his superiors.
This is the noble virtue.
